PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS AND THE PLAY: REFLECTIONS IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT

Resumo: The objective of this investigation is to discuss the play phenomenon, in line with the perception of Physical Education teachers. Descriptive, 77 basic education teachers from the state network of the Greater Florianópolis, Santa Catarina state participated in the study. As a research instrument, a questionnaire was used. The results show that the investigated teachers had different perceptions about the play, namely: the play is a teaching strategy, it is content, it is fun, it is a cultural phenomenon, it is a social phenomenon and some participants did not respond. It can be concluded that teachers have different perceptions about play, thus being able to observe the polysemy of the play phenomenon, which presents different concepts in different areas of knowledge.

Con un enfoque descriptivo, 77 profesores de educación básica de la red estatal de la región del Gran Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, participaron en el estudio. Como instrumento de investigación, se utilizó un cuestionario. Los resultados muestran que los maestros investigados tenían diferentes percepciones sobre el juego, a saber: el juego es una estrategia de enseñanza, es contenido, es divertido, es un fenómeno cultural, es un fenómeno social y algunos participantes no respondieron. Se puede concluir que los maestros tienen diferentes percepciones sobre el juego, por lo que pueden observar la polisemia del fenómeno del juego, que presenta diferentes conceptos en diferentes áreas del conocimiento.O objetivo desta investigação é discutir o fenômeno jogo, em consonância com a percepção de professores de Educação Física. De caráter descritivo, participaram do estudo 77 professores de educação básica da rede estadual da região da Grande Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. Como instrumento de pesquisa, foi utilizado um questionário. Os resultados apontam que os professores investigados apresentaram diferentes percepções sobre o jogo, a saber: o jogo é uma estratégia de ensino, é um conteúdo, é diversão, é um fenômeno cultural, é um fenômeno social e alguns participantes não responderam.
