Resumo: The article aims to describe the pedagogy of game, from the processes of teaching, living and learning of children's play in the context of non-formal education. Thus, a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory research was carried out, composed of participant observation of the free time, interviews-conversation and panel with the children and semi-structured interviews with the educators. The information was analysed by Content Analysis and data triangulation. The results signal that the games are co-constructed by the children, who learn to play with relatives, friends, Physical Education teachers and the media. In addition, the knowledge shared in the game consists of the learning arising from the activity and the skills needed to maintain the game state. It can be concluded that the pedagogy of the game is linked to the creation of organized environments and mediators attentive to the needs and interests of the players.
