PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN INFANTALE EDUCATION: TIMING, SPACES AND CHILD RIGHTS

The Physical Education in Infantile Education is in charge of making possible, for little children, to live and experiment different corporal practices. The study proposes to identify if children, matriculated in eight public institutions of Early Childhood Education on a city in the interior of Mato Grosso, are having access to pedagogical practices focused on the contents of Physical Education. To obtain the data, teachers/ educators (n=102) answered a questionnaire with closed questions and multiple choice. It was verified that the contents of Physical Education in the didactic projects are still incipient. Teachers recognize the existence of different spaces in the institution, but prioritize the use of classrooms, playground and/ or courtyard. The periods reserved to corporal activities are reduced, results that mainly affect the two-year classes. We conclude that there is a distance between what is proposed as a right to the children and what is actually accomplished in the analyzed institutions.
