Resumo: This paper presents a criticism to the way the National Common Core (BNCC) deals with students’ financial education. In order to do this, the elaboration process of the BNCC is analyzed, aiming to show that it was developed by the business class to advocate in favor of their own class interests. Such interests are opposite to the interests of the working class, and aim at reproducing ways of capitalism. Also, the BNCC’s general structure and pedagogical guidelines are presented in order to show the frailty of a teaching based in skills and abilities. In particular, the fragility of the concept of financial education adopted in the BNCC is addressed. This concept does not take into account a series of conditions particular to the Brazilian people. Eventually, it is presented a series of mathematical and non-mathematical activities aiming to help teachers and students think about their own condition in the capitalist society and the obstacles to bring off the guidelines of the BNCC.

Para tal, se analisa o processo de construção do documento de modo a estabelecer que a BNCC foi elaborada pela classe empresarial de forma a defender os seus próprios interesses de classe, interesses esses que se contrapõem aos interesses da classe trabalhadora e visam à reprodução da lógica do capitalismo. Também foi apresentado a estrutura da BNCC e a sua concepção pedagógica, de forma a ilustrar a fragilidade do ensino por competências e habilidades. Em especial, se aborda a precariedade da concepção de educação financeira presente no documento, que não leva em consideração uma série de fatores inerentes à população brasileira.
