THE POSITIONING OF THE BRAZILIAN MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION SOCIETY ON HIGH SCHOOL REFORM: a documental analysis

Resumo: Secondary education was reformed in Brazil through Provisional Measure No. 746/2016, converted into Law No. 13.415/2017. The reform, currently being implemented, impacted – and continues to impact – not only secondary education, but also several educational policies. In this context, in this work, we aim to analyze the position of the Brazilian Society of Mathematics Education (SBEM) on the reform based on documents published on the institution’s website. Theoretical references on the reform of High School were constituted by authors critical of this reformulation, such as: Piolli and Sala (2021) and Corrêa and Garcia (2018). The research has a qualitative approach, of the documentary type. The collection of documents was carried out on the SBEM website, considering the month of publication of MP No. 746/2016, September/2016, until March 2021. For the analysis, we organized the material and read it according to content analysis criteria. Our results showed that the Society takes a stand against the reform. However, coupled with critical thinking, we noticed, in recent documents, signs of adequacy and contributions to the implementation of the reform. This work can stimulate new discussions and reflections on the reform and its impacts on the formation of our youth.Keywords: SBEM. High School Reform. Document analysis.

Document analysis. La educación secundaria fue reformada en Brasil mediante la Medida Provisional No. 746/2016, convertida en Ley No. 13.415 / 2017. La reforma, que se está implementando actualmente, impactó - y continúa impactando - no solo a la educación secundaria, sino también a varias políticas educativas. En este contexto, en este trabajo, pretendemos analizar la posición de la Sociedad Brasileña de Educación Matemática (SBEM) sobre la reforma a partir de documentos publicados en el sitio web de la institución. Las referencias teóricas sobre la reforma del Bachillerato estuvieron constituidas por autores críticos de esta reformulación, como: Piolli y Sala (2021) y Corrêa y García (2018). La investigación tiene un enfoque cualitativo, de tipo documental. La recolección de documentos se realizó en el sitio web de la SBEM, considerando el mes de publicación del MP No. 746/2016, septiembre / 2016, hasta marzo de 2021. Para el análisis, organizamos el material y lo leímos de acuerdo con criterios de análisis de contenido. Nuestros resultados mostraron que la Sociedad se opone a la reforma. Sin embargo, junto con el pensamiento crítico, notamos, en documentos recientes, signos de adecuación y contribuciones a la implementación de la reforma. Este trabajo puede estimular nuevas discusiones y reflexiones sobre la reforma y sus impactos en la formación de nuestra juventud.Palabras clave: SBEM. Reforma de la escuela secundaria. Análisis de documentos.O Ensino Médio foi reformado, no Brasil, através da Medida Provisória nº 746/2016, convertida na Lei nº 13.415/2017. A reforma, em fase de implementação, impactou –e permanece impactando – não apenas o Ensino Médio, mas também diversas políticas educacionais. Nesse contexto, neste trabalho, temos como objetivo analisar o posicionamento da Sociedade Brasileira de Educação Matemática (SBEM) sobre a reforma, a partir de documentos publicados no site da instituição. Constituíram-se referenciais teóricos sobre a reforma do Ensino Médio, autores críticos a essa reformulação, tais como: Piolli e Sala (2021) e Corrêa e Garcia (2018). A pesquisa é de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo documental. A coleta dos documentos foi realizada no site da SBEM, considerando o mês de divulgação da MP nº 746/2016, setembro/2016, até março de 2021. Para a análise, organizamos o material e realizamos a leitura segundo critérios da análise de conteúdo. Nossos resultados mostraram que a Sociedade se posiciona de forma contraria à reforma. No entanto, atrelado a um pensamento crítico, percebemos, em documentos recentes, sinais de adequação e contribuições para a implementação da reforma. Este trabalho poderá estimular novas discussões e reflexões sobre a reforma e os seus impactos na formação da nossa juventude.Palavras-chave: SBEM. Reforma do Ensino Médio.
