Resumo: This paper refers to teaching/learning in a subject named Fundaments of Human Care III – Care Module – at the Nursing School of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, under the vision of the undergraduate student. In 1996, the subject started at the fourth semester of the curriculum, constituted of its basic thematic, and in which the students learn about the genesis of human care process. The daily reports of the students during this module practice at the Pediatric Oncology Unit (POU) of a University Hospital, in Porto Alegre, RS, were submitted to phenomenological analysis, based on Merleau-Ponty (Martins, 1992). From this analysis emerged the significance expressed by the student of the experiences on the POU; the relation between teaching-practice; theoretical basis and care.

En 1996 inició la asignatura en lo cuarto periodo del currícolo, constituida de la temática básica, donde los estudiantes aprenden sobre la genesis del cuidado humano. Los informes diarios, emitidos por los alumnos durante la práctica de este módulo, en la Unidad Oncológica Pediátrica de un hospital de enseñanza, en Porto Alegre-RS, fueron sometidos al análisis fenomonológica, com base em Merleau-Ponty (Martins, 1992) Del análisis emergió el significado expresso por el alumno respecto a las experiencias en la UOP, la relación entre enseñanzapráctica, base teórica y cuidado.Este estudo refere-se ao ensino/aprendizagem na disciplina de Fundamentos do Cuidado Humano III – módulo do cuidado – Escola de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, sob a ótica do aluno do curso de graduação em enfermagem. Em 1996, iniciou-se a disciplina, no quarto semestre do currículo, constituída da temática básica, onde os acadêmicos aprendem sobre a gênese do cuidado humano. Os relatos diários, dos alunos, durante a prática desse módulo, na Unidade Oncológica Pediátrica (UOP) de um hospital de ensino, em Porto Alegre-RS, foram submetidos à análise fenomenológica, com base em Merleau-Ponty (Martins, 1992).
