EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTIONS WITH ADOLESCENTS AT SCHOOL: EXPERIENCE OF MEDICAL STUDENTS

Resumo: This text reports medical students’ experience, that studying the curricular component of Integrative Practices Teaching, Service and Community (PIESC). The authors report the experience in the development of health education actions, that was developed with middle school students from a public school in Jataí, Goiás, Brazil. Pedagogical tools were used to that capture molded knowledge, information and previous health data and address three themes generators: promotion of sport for valuing and empowerment of individuals, bullying, and sexuality. The relevance of themes was discussed, based on the results of previous studies, emphasizing the importance of maintaining physical and mental health. The approach of these themes pointed out the need for health promotion practices that empower and value autonomy of students at school. These aspects are features of popular health education.

These aspects are features of popular health education.Esse texto relata a experiência de acadêmicos de medicina, cursando o componente Práticas Integrativas Ensino, Serviço e Comunidade (PIESC), que relatam o desenvolvimento de ações de educação popular em saúde em uma escola pública de Ensino Fundamental do município de Jataí, Goiás, Brasil. Usa-se ferramentas pedagógicas que permitem à população moldar conhecimentos, informações e dados prévios sobre a saúde, a fim de construir concepções íntegras juntamente com o educador. Discute-se a relevância da abordagem dos assuntos: promoção do esporte, bullying e sexualidade, nas ações de educação popular em saúde, a partir de resultados de estudos prévios, ressaltando a importância da manutenção da saúde física e mental.
