Education, Inclusion, and Work: a necessary debate

Resumo: | The inclusion of people with disabilities in different environments – school, social, and labor – has been discussed, but apparently few advances weremade in Brazil. In the different dimensions of inclusion, new challenges are marked by old barriers and stigmas. The inclusion at different levels of the formal K-12 education is a distant reality yet. This paper aims to present a theoretical analysis from the research undertaken about the inclusion inthe labor market, focusing on the observation of solutions used in these environments by means of assistive technologies, allowing not only the inclusionof people with disabilities, but also the qualification and improvement of their professional development. This research aims to organize and promotesolutions in a virtual library, providing free access and making it easyto search and retrieve information. |

Nas diferentes dimensões da inclusão, novos desafios são pautados por velhos obstáculos e estigmas. A inclusão em níveis diferentes da educação básica formal revela-se como uma realidade ainda distante. O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma análise teórica a partir da pesquisa iniciada no âmbito da inclusão do mercado de trabalho, cujo foco é observar soluções utilizadas nestes ambientes através das tecnologias assistivas, que permitam não só incluir as pessoas com deficiência, mas qualificar e incrementar o seu desenvolvimento profissional.
