Resumo: This paper has the theme "Challenges and practices of school management: an account of experiences", whose objective is to analyze the challenges and practices of school management in a democratic-participatory dimension. It was carried out based on the experiences lived in the Municipal School Francisco de Paula Pessoa Filho, Community of Cachoeira - Caraúbas / RN. It is divided into three parts. The first brings the concept of school management, referring to an understanding of democratic-participatory management. The second reflects on the trio manager and his assignments in the school environment. The third part, it is an experience report that is subdivided into the characterization of the School and the Report of Experience. To base the topic theoretically, works of authors such as: Dalcorso (2012), Libâneo (2007), Lück (2000), Martins (2010), Santos (2012), Silva (2011), among others. The methodological procedures used were of a qualitative and quantitative nature through the collection of data and interventions with the current management of the School. In short, these writings will serve as a guide for school managers and educators in general, who wish to re-signify their practices, since it is a set of successful experiences and successful activities that culminated in the success of the Institution presented here.

Foi realizado com base nas experiências vivenciadas na Escola Municipal Francisco de Paula Pessoa Filho, Comunidade de Cachoeira – Caraúbas/RN. Está dividido em três partes. A primeira traz o conceito de gestão escolar, nos remetendo a um entendimento sobre gestão democrático-participativa. A segunda reflete sobre o trio gestor e suas atribuições no ambiente escolar. Já a terceira parte, trata-se de um relato de experiência que se subdivide na caracterização da Escola e no Relato de Experiência. Para embasar teoricamente o tema, serão utilizadas obras de autores como: Dalcorso (2012), Libâneo (2007), Lück (2000), Martins (2010), Santos (2012), Silva (2011), entre outros. Os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados foram de cunho qualitativo e quantitativo através coleta de dados e intervenções com a atual gestão da Escola.
