Resumo: | The objective of this study was to analyze the teacher training of the teacher acting in the area of education of the deaf in the schools of the municipality of Caicó – RN. Data collection took place at the Presidente Kennedy municipal schools and at the José Augusto Educational Center, in which students enrolled deaf students with bilingual education in basic education. For the theoretical basis, a search was made for works related to the research topic in the Scielo databases, Capes Periodical Portal, Digital Library of Monographs and Google Scholar. As an instrument for data collection, questionnaires were applied, structured with objective and subjective questions elaborated by the student, having as collaborators the students who minister Libras. The data was tabulated in the Microsoft Office Excel program, version 2010 and the results presented in tabular form for easy understanding of the same. A total of four professors participated in the research, most of whom declare, have an academic background, and a specialization course in Libra, as well as a teacher training course for teaching the deaf. However, a major deficiency related to the question of translation and interpreter was observed, mainly because they did not completely dominate the language of the signs. Thus, it is perceived that the educators who work in these institutions need to seek new formations to fill their needs and to use them so that they can meet the needs of the students who require bilingual and inclusive education in these institutions. |

A coleta de dados ocorreu nas escolas municipais Presidente Kennedy e no Centro Educacional José Augusto, as quais registrou matrícula de alunos surdos na educação básica. Para o embasamento teórico realizamos um busca por trabalhos relacionados à temática da pesquisa nas bases de dados Scielo, Portal de Periódicos Capes, Biblioteca digital de monografias e no Google Acadêmico. Como instrumento para coleta de dados ocorreu à aplicação de questionários, estruturado com questões objetivas e subjetivas, tendo como colaboradores os docentes que ministram Libras. Os dados foram tabulados no programa Microsoft Office Excel, versão 2010 e os resultados apresentados em forma de tabelas para facilitar a compreensão dos mesmos. Participou da pesquisa um total de quatro professores, dos quais a maioria declara, possuir formação acadêmica, e curso de especialização em Libras, bem como curso de formação de professores para ensino de surdos. No entanto, observou-se uma grande deficiência relacionada à questão a formação para a tradução e interpretação, principalmente por não dominarem completamente a língua de sinais.
