School memories: narratives of trainers of mathematics teachers

Resumo: In this article, we aim to know the constitution of teaching knowledge of Mathematics teachers from IFRN, considering the experiences in schooling prior to higher education. We are interested to understand how these teachers recall and reflect on their experiences. This is a qualitative study using narrative interviews. The reports of respondents revealed teaching methodologies used by their former teachers, school cultures and remarkable teachers they had. Despite the temporal distance, the school experiences of teachers remain alive and active and remain helpful to justifying their professional career choices.

Despite the temporal distance, the school experiences of teachers remain alive and active and remain helpful to justifying their professional career choices.Neste artigo, temos como objetivo conhecer a constituição dos saberes docentes de professores da Licenciatura em Matemática do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN), considerando as experiências vividas na escolarização anterior à Educação Superior. Interessa perceber como esses docentes rememoram e refletem sobre essas experiências. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa com o uso de entrevistas narrativas. Os relatos dos entrevistados revelaram metodologias de ensino usadas pelos seus antigos professores, o cotidiano das escolas que frequentaram e os professores que lhes foram marcantes.
