Resumo: | Based on the theoretical-methodological approach of the Critical Discourse Analysis, the aim of this study was to analyze the texts of introduction and presentation of the Science/Biology Minimum Curriculum in the state of Rio de Janeiro. While analyzing the texts, we sought to comprehend how the educational purposes of Science Education are represented in the discourse. By analyzing these representations, we were able to identify discourses on the development of new relationships between humans and nature and also on the importance of understanding the scientific and technological production processes in the current scenario. Based on these analyses, we seek to improve the dialogue between Science Education and Critical Environmental Education regarding the challenges that the environmental debate points to the critical approach of the relationship between human beings and the environment. |

Nos textos analisados, buscamos compreender como as finalidades educacionais da Educação em Ciências são representadas discursivamente. Ao analisarmos essas representações, identificamos os discursos sobre a construção de novas relações entre seres humanos e natureza, e sobre a importância da compreensão dos processos de produção científica e tecnológica no cenário contemporâneo.
