Resumo: This study aims at presenting data about the Spanish language teaching in the Northeast of Brazil, considering the realities of countryside cities, and the laws No. 11.161 and No. 13.415, of 2005 and 2017, respectively. According to what has been observed, in the last decades, there was an advance in the offer of the Spanish language, in degree courses and in middle and high schools, all of this from law No. 11.161 / 05, however this reality has changed from law No. 13.415 / 17, when many cities reduced the workload of this school subject. The data used as corpus were collected through the virtual application of a questionnaire answered by 69 teachers from the nine states in the Northeast region. The analysis of the data presents that the job offer and the interest of the degree student in following the teaching career has greatly decreased due to the non-obligation of teaching Spanish in schools, although many others continue fighting for their rights once they believe and defend the importance of this language for Brazilians.

Según se observa, en las últimas décadas hubo un avance en la oferta de la lengua española, en cursos de graduación y en la enseñanza básica, todo ello a partir de la ley Nº 11.161/05, pero esa realidad cambia a partir de la Ley Nº 13.415/17, cuando muchas ciudades redujeron la carga horaria de la referida asignatura. Los datos utilizados como corpus fueron recogidos por medio de la aplicación virtual de un cuestionario al que respondieron 69 profesores de las nueve provincias de la región. Los datos recogidos y su correspondiente análisis señalan que la oferta de trabajo y el interés de los estudiantes de graduación en seguir la carrera de profesor de español ha disminuido debido a la no obligatoriedad de la enseñanza de español en las escuelas, aunque otros muchos sigan luchando por sus derechos pues creen y defienden la importancia del idioma para los brasileños.Este artigo tem o objetivo de apresentar dados sobre o ensino da língua espanhola no Nordeste do Brasil, considerando as realidades das cidades do interior, e as Leis Nº 11.161 e Nº 13.415, de 2005 y 2017, respectivamente. Como observamos, nas últimas décadas teve um avanço na oferta da língua espanhola, nos cursos de graduação e no ensino básico, depois da Lei Nº 11.161/05, porém essa realidade mudou a partir da Lei Nº 13.415/17, quando muitas cidades reduziram a carga horária da referida disciplina. Os dados utilizados como corpus foram coletados através da aplicação virtual de um questionário, respondido por 69 professores dos nove estados da região.
