This paper aimed to analyze the translation into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) of the sound effects of the type sound of nature in the film Corisco and Dadá (1996), having as reference the sound effects translated into the Subtitling for the Deaf and the Hard-of-Hearing (SDH) of the film. As theoretical background, the research relied on Accessible Audiovisual Translation, Corpus-Based Translation Studies, SDH parameters, the role of sound in films and Audiovisual Translation in Sign Language. The results revealed that none of the sounds from nature were translated in Libras. As these sound effects were important for the enjoyment of the narrative, the non-translation may have hampered the reception by the deaf. Because of this, we analyzed the possibility of translation and propose how it could be done.
