The creation of the Art Schools Fritz Alt and Escolinha de Artes Infantis in the city of industries

Resumo: The article is part of a documental and bibliographical research about the creation of Fritz Alt School of Arts (EAFA), located in Joinville/Brazil, as one of the actions of the industrialization movement that took place in the city in the 1960s and 1970s. The study reveals that, in the mentioned historical period, a developmental discourse was mobilized to justify the creation of this School. The Art School Escolinha de Artes Infantis (EAI) was created within EAFA in 1970 as a reflection of the Children Art Schools Movement (Movimento Escolinhas de Arte; MEA) in Brazil. MEA created several art schools throughout the Brazilian territory, which became artistic workshops for children. The two art schools aforementioned are financed by the City Hall and have been resisting for more than 50 years in an industrial city, despite the movements of tension and struggles of its artist-teachers, employees and students.

O estudo desvela que no referido período histórico circulou um discurso desenvolvimentista mobilizado para justificar a criação da Escola. Por sua vez, a Escolinha de Artes Infantis (EAI) foi criada dentro da EAFA em 1970, como um reflexo do Movimento Escolinhas de Arte (MEA) do Brasil, o qual se constituiu por meio da criação de várias escolinhas de arte em todo o território brasileiro, que se transformaram em ateliês de produção artística para crianças.
