Resumo: | ABSTRACT. The article aims to analyze the experiences of democratic management practices in basic education schools, developed by school managers. The methodological approach used in the research was qualitative and in relation to the object of study it was classified as field research. The importance of the role of school management as a mediator was highlighted. The participation of the whole generates autonomy in each subject, providing collective decision-making. These results contribute to encourage the democratization of education for and through democracy through democratic management, as well as to rethink the training of school managers. |

RESUMEN El artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las experiencias de prácticas de gestión democrática en escuelas de educación básica, desarrolladas por gestores escolares. El enfoque metodológico utilizado en la investigación fue cualitativo y en relación al objeto de estudio se catalogó como investigación de campo. Se destacó la importancia del papel de la dirección escolar como mediador. La participación del conjunto genera autonomía en cada sujeto, facilitando la toma de decisiones colectiva. Estos resultados contribuyen a incentivar la democratización de la educación para y por la democracia a través de la gestión democrática, así como a repensar la formación de directivos escolares.ABSTRACT. A abordagem metodológica utilizada na pesquisa foi a qualitativa, em relação ao objeto de estudo, sendo classificada como pesquisa de campo. Evidenciou-se a importância do papel da gestão escolar como mediadora. A participação do todo gera autonomia em cada sujeito, propiciando a tomada de decisão de forma coletiva. Esses resultados contribuem para estimular a democratização da educação para e pela democracia por meio de uma gestão democrática, bem como para repensar a formação de gestores escolares.
