Specifications of Celpe-Bras exam and the description of the written part tasks: convergences and divergences

Resumo: This paper aims to describe the tasks of the Written Part of Celpe-Bras exam from 1998 to 2016-2, investigating how these tasks operationalize the theoretical construct of Celpe-Bras and contemplate the contents provided in its specifications (BRAZIL, 2002). From the material available at Acervo Celpe-Bras, the 156 Written Part’s tasks were described, with the most recurrent elements in their rubrics and input materials being verified, and the description was related to the specifications presented in Celpe-Bras’ manuals. The results obtained point to the need of updating the exam’s specifications because, even though the tasks bring authentic input materials and propose a variety of communicative situations, predicting a relation of interlocution, involving different purposes and the production of different speech genres, these specifications are not sufficient to contemplate the complexity and variety of the exam’s applied tasks. The results presented on this paper contribute for Celpe-Bras’ validation studies, as well as provide subsidies for didactic material elaboration, teachers’ training and preparation of examiners.

A partir do material disponível no Acervo Celpe-Bras, foram descritas as 156 tarefas aplicadas na Parte Escrita entre 1998 e 2016, verificando-se os elementos mais recorrentes nos seus enunciados e materiais de insumo e relacionando-se tal descrição às especificações apresentadas nos manuais do Celpe-Bras. Os resultados obtidos apontam para a necessidade de atualização das especificações do exame, visto que, apesar de as tarefas trazerem materiais de insumo autênticos e proporem situações de comunicação variadas, prevendo uma relação de interlocução determinada, envolvendo diferentes propósitos e a produção de diferentes gêneros do discurso, essas especificações não são totalmente suficientes para contemplar a complexidade e a variedade das tarefas do exame.
