The collective construction of epistemological, political, and pedagogic principles of liberating School Physical Education

Resumo: Paulo Freire’s legacy has been a source of interpretations and resignifications by educators of different curricular components. In this sense, we have been approaching the work of the patron of Brazilian education and educators who share the same utopia of, through School Physical Education, materializing political-pedagogical practices in the light of Freire’s teachings. The intention of this dialogical movement permeated by the participant research was to identify and delineate political-pedagogical and epistemological principles of Physical Education at school in the light of Liberating Pedagogy. As a path taken, we built a collective of resistance and used the narratives of our Life Stories, the sharing of experience reports and Pedagogical Letters, and the dialogue in Culture Circles. As considerations, we highlight the possibility of building counter-hegemonic research in Physical Education at school, considering teachers as intellectuals.

Nesse sentido, fomos nos aproximando da obra do patrono da educação brasileira e de educadores/as que compartilham a mesma utopia de, por meio da Educação Física Escolar, materializarem práticas político-pedagógicas à luz dos ensinamentos freireanos. A intencionalidade desse movimento dialógico permeado pela pesquisa-participante foi identificar e delinear princípios político-pedagógicos e epistemológicos da Educação Física Escolar à luz da Pedagogia Libertadora. Como caminho percorrido, construímos um coletivo de resistência e utilizamos as narrativas de nossas histórias de vida, o compartilhamento de relatos de experiências e de Cartas Pedagógicas, e o diálogo em Círculos de Cultura.
