Between bars: dialogues between popular education and the promotion of healthy eating with adolescents in compliance with socio-educational measure

Resumo: | This article aims to report and analyze, in the light of an extensionist discipline of the Nutrition course of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, carried out in partnership with a host unit for semi-liberated adolescents, the use of the popular education referential in educational practices in food, nutrition and health. Through the systematization and analysis of experiences, the potency of popular education was verified as a theoretical-methodological axis guiding the interdisciplinary action in health, enabling educational activities focused on integral care, promoting healthy eating and strengthening the support for black youth in contexts of violence and exclusion. It is suggested to broaden the practice scenarios in order to promote the recognition and confrontation of the social determinants of health during the training of nutritionists. Such an approach can favor the perception and appreciation of the domains of food, culture and society for a critical and holistic formation. |

Such an approach can favor the perception and appreciation of the domains of food, culture and society for a critical and holistic formation.Este artigo objetiva relatar e analisar, à luz de uma disciplina extensionista do curso de Nutrição da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro realizada em parceria com uma unidade de acolhimento para adolescentes em regime de semiliberdade, a utilização do referencial da educação popular nas práticas educativas em alimentação, nutrição e saúde. Por meio da sistematização e análise de experiências, verificou-se a potência da educação popular como eixo teórico-metodológico orientador para a ação interdisciplinar em saúde, possibilitando atividades educativas centradas no cuidado integral, na promoção da alimentação saudável e no fortalecimento do apoio social para jovens negros em contextos de violência e exclusão. Sugere-se a ampliação dos cenários de prática, buscando propiciar o reconhecimento e o enfrentamento dos determinantes sociais da saúde durante a formação de nutricionistas.
