University Quota Policy: Study of Academic Performance in Graduation Course after the implementation of the Quota Policy at the Federal University of Uberlândia – UFU

Resumo: Universities have always played an educational role of extreme social relevance. But new social demands are emerging requiring more inclusive conditions for access to a qualitative higher education. This paper aimed to analyze the academic performance of students from UFU's classroom undergraduate courses after the implementation of the Quota Law. 7548 students and 110 options of undergraduate courses were analyzed. The results showed that non-quota students presented higher performance in the major areas of Agrarian Sciences, Exact and Earth Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Engineering, Linguistics, Letters and Arts and Multidisciplinary Sciences. Quota holders, on the other hand, had higher performances in the areas of Biological Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Sciences.

Néanmoins, de nouvelles demandes sociales ont apparu, en exigeant des conditions plus inclusives d’accès à l’enseignement supérieur de qualité. Ce travail a eu par but d’analyser la performance académique des étudiants des Cours présentiels de Licence de la UFU dès l’implantation de la Loi des Quotas. 7548 étudiants et 110 options de Cours de Licence ont été analysés. Les données obtenues ont montré que les étudiants non-quotistes ont eu  un meilleur résultat dans le domaine  de Sciences Agraires, Sciences Exactes et de la Terre, Sciences Sociales Appliquées, Ingénierie, Linguistique, Lettres et Arts Multidisciplinaires. Par contre, Les quotistes ont eu une meilleure réussite dans le domaine  de Sciences Biologiques, Sciences de la Santé et Sciences Humaines.As universidades sempre desempenharam papel formativo de extrema relevância social. Mas novas demandas sociais surgem exigindo condições mais inclusivas de acesso ao ensino superior de qualidade. Este trabalho objetivou analisar o desempenho acadêmico dos estudantes dos cursos de graduação presenciais da UFU após a implementação da Lei de Cotas. Foram analisados 7548 estudantes e 110 opções de cursos de graduação. Os resultados demonstraram que não cotistas apresentaram maior desempenho nas grandes áreas de Ciências Agrárias, Ciências Exatas e da Terra, Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Engenharias, Linguística, Letras e Artes e Multidisciplinares.
