The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of video feedback on the acquisition of a soccer motor skill. The sample consisted of 25 adult volunteers, of both genders (8 men and 17 women), with a mean age of 21.56 years (SD: 2.65). The motor task analyzed was the pass and aimed to kick a ball to wards a target located at a distance of 13 meters with the non-dominant foot. The study consiste do four stages called pre-test (5 attempts), acquisition phase (50 attempts), retention test (10 attempts) and transfer test (10 attempts, with the pass being performed at a distance of 18 meters). Participants were quasi-randomly as signed to a video feedback group (n = 12), which received video feedback after 50% of the acquisition phase trials; and the control group (n = 13), which did not receive video feedback after any trials. The measure used to evaluate the performance of the passes was the hit-to-target score, which ranged from 6 to 0 points. The results found revealed an increase in pass accuracy in the acquisition phase and superiority of the video feedback group in the transfer test. It is concluded that the provision of video feedback benefits the learning of the soccer pass. Such finding scan help teachers/coaches in football teaching-learning contexts.
