Resumo: This research had as objective contemplates about the social representation of the academical students' of the Course of Degree reading in Letters of UNIPAR -Campus Sede - Umuarama, seeking to the following aspects: what understands for reading, school experience in the field of the reading, the available material resources for the exercise of the action of reading, considerations on the understanding of the several texts, contributions of the experiences previous with the reading for the practice while professional. For the development of the study I opted for the qualitative research, and as instrument for the collection of the data used of structured interviews. The interviews made possible to apprehend the reality in focus, and for this road, I arrived the an analysis of the social representation of the researched students' reading. The universe of the research understood a total of 247 (two hundred and forty seven) students concluintes of the Course of Degree in Letters of UNIPAR - Thirst - Umuarama. Tliey were selected as subject of the research, a total of 12 (twelve) students to compose the sample acting, approximately, 5% of the students concluintes of the Course of Degree researched. To present dissertation it is structured like this: in the First chapter, I discuss the concepts of social representation, focusing the delineamentos of that theory, looking for explicitar as he/she takes place the process of construction of the knowledge in the space of their representations; in the second, I approach some tendencies on reading, considering some relevant aspects for understanding of the same, while social communication. Later, I present relative considerations to the condition of the reader's formation, with emphasis in the aspects that interfere positively and negatively so that the students become good readers. It is stood out, also, the reading while important resource of development of conditions for the production of texts and, in the third party, I present the analysis of the obtained results, by the data collected through tlie interviews to understand the social representation of the Reading. It is ended that most of the subjects is not considered good reader capable to read understanding. He/she presents a concept retumed for the decoding, decifração of the written code. The academics' path seems not to have made possible them the capacity to read understanding. It is done necessary to contemplate on the values that guide concepts, so that one can understand and to transfonn (desmestificando) the representations of the reading, which if it turns relevant especially for those that are enabled for the teaching.

Para o desenvolvimento do estudo optei pela pesquisa qualitativa, e como instrumento para a coleta dos dados utilizei de entrevistas estruturadas. As entrevistas possibilitaram apreender a realidade em foco, e por este caminho, cheguei a uma análise da representação social da leitura dos alunos pesquisados. O universo da pesquisa compreendeu um total de 247 (duzentos e quarenta e sete) alunos concluintes do Curso de Licenciatura em Letras da UNIPAR - Sede -Umuarama. Foram selecionados como sujeitos da pesquisa, um total de 12 (doze) alunos para compor a amostra representando, aproximadamente, 5% dos alunos concluintes do Curso de Licenciatura pesquisado. A presente dissertação está assim estruturada: no primeiro capítulo, discuto os conceitos de representação social, enfocando os delineamentos dessa teoria, buscando explicitar como se realiza o processo de construção do conhecimento no espaço de suas representações; no segundo, abordo algumas tendências sobre leitura, considerando alguns aspectos relevantes para entendimento da mesma, enquanto comunicação social. Posteriormente, apresento considerações relativas à condição da formação do leitor, com ênfase nos aspectos que interferem positivamente e negativamente para que os alunos se tomem bons leitores. Ressalta-se, também, a leitura enquanto recurso importante de desenvolvimento de condições para a produção de textos e, no terceiro, apresento a análise dos resultados obtidos, mediante os dados coletados por meio das entrevistas para compreender a representação social da Leitura. Conclui-se que a maioria dos sujeitos não se considera bom leitor capaz de ler compreendendo. Apresenta um conceito voltado para a decodificação, decifração do código escrito. A trajetória dos acadêmicos parece não ter possibilitado a eles a capacidade de ler compreendendo.
