Extension actions in the school context: promoting mental health for high school youth

Resumo: Being considered a legal requirement in undergraduate curricula, university extension practices were recognized as an important contributing factor to academic training. This is an experience report about the actions carried out in a public high school in the municipality of Sobral, Ceará. The article aimed to present the experience of mental health promotion actions in the school context. The experience was developed by four academics of the Nursing course of the State University of Vale de Acaraú of the municipality Sobral, as a requirement for Extension Experiences Module 1- Youth. The practices were carried out with students of the 1st year H class, had dialogues about the importance of youth, drugs and anxiety, explanation about the SerTão Bom application. The results obtained allowed us to understand the shortcomings of the young participants on the subjects addressed. Finally, we also conclude on the importance of these interactions with the adolescent public.

Este es un informe de experiencia sobre las acciones llevadas a cabo en una escuela secundaria pública en el municipio de Sobral, Ceará. El artículo tenía como objetivo presentar la experiencia de las acciones de promoción de la salud mental en el contexto escolar. La experiencia fue desarrollada por cuatro académicos del curso de Enfermería de la Universidad Estadual del Vale de Acaraú del municipio Sobral, como requisito para el Módulo de Experiencias de Extensión 1- Juventud. Las prácticas se llevaron a cabo con estudiantes de la clase H de 1er año, tuvieron diálogos sobre la importancia de la juventud, las drogas y la ansiedad, explicación sobre la aplicación SerTão Bom. Los resultados obtenidos nos permitieron comprender las deficiencias de los jóvenes participantes en los temas abordados. Por último, también concluimos sobre la importancia de estas interacciones con el público adolescente.Ao serem consideradas exigências legais nos currículos da graduação, as práticas de extensão universitária foram reconhecidas como importantes fatores de contribuição para a formação acadêmica. Trata-se de relato de experiência acerca das ações realizadas em escola pública de ensino médio no município de Sobral, Ceará. Objetivou-se apresentar a experiência de ações de promoção de saúde mental no contexto escolar. A vivência foi desenvolvida por quatro acadêmicas do curso de enfermagem da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú, como requisito para o Módulo de Vivências de Extensão 1- Juventudes. As práticas foram realizadas com alunos da turma do 1° ano H, em que se contaram com diálogos sobre a importância da juventude, as drogas e a ansiedade, além da explanação acerca do aplicativo SerTão Bom. Os resultados obtidos possibilitaram entender as carências dos jovens participantes sobre os assuntos abordados.
