Collaborative consulting in higher education, focusing on a student with Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Resumo: | The area of special education has transverse nature; thus, it extrapolates the student as the only target. Its actions should include the teacher as recipient of specific training, which must be continuing, flexible and fully developed in the daily practice of the classroom. The present case report aims to describe collaborative consulting procedures performed by a professional expert in partnership with University managers, with the Faculty of Mathematics members, and focuses on a student with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Adjustments were applied in the evaluation strategies, including linguistic adequacy and the acceptance of oral responses with the support of resolutions on paper or on the blackboard. The evaluation process was registered through notes, photographs, as well as audio and video recordings. In the end, bearing in mind the failure in previous opportunities, the teachers reported the use of the strategies to assess the student learning as decisive. |

Sus acciones deben incluir al docente como destinatario de formación específica, que debe ser continuada, flexible y concretarse en la práctica diaria del aula. El presente relato de caso objetiva describir los procedimientos de una consultoría colaborativa realizada por un profesional especialista, en asociación de gestores universitarios, junto a docentes de un curso superior de Matemáticas, teniendo por foco un estudiante con Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Se aplicaron ajustes en las estrategias de evaluación, incluyendo: adecuación lingüística de las preguntas y aceptación de respuestas orales, con apoyo de solución en el papel o en la pizarra. El proceso de evaluación se registró mediante notas, fotografías y grabaciones de audio y vídeo. Al final, las docentes relataron como siendo determinante el uso de las estrategias para evaluar el aprendizaje del estudiante, considerando el fracaso en oportunidades anteriores.A área da Educação Especial tem natureza transversal, extrapolando, portanto, o estudante como único alvo. Suas ações devem incluir o docente como destinatário de formação específica, que deve ser continuada, flexível e se concretizar na prática diária da sala de aula. O presente relato de caso objetiva descrever os procedimentos de uma consultoria colaborativa realizada por um profissional especialista, em parceria com gestores universitários, com docentes de um curso superior de Matemática, tendo por foco um estudante com Transtorno do Espectro Autista. Foram aplicados ajustes nas estratégias de avaliação, incluindo: adequação linguística das questões e aceite de respostas orais, com apoio de solução no papel ou na lousa. O processo avaliativo foi registrado por meio de anotações, fotografias e gravações de áudio e vídeo.
