Evaluation of accessibility and satisfaction conditions of higher education students: a case study

The present study aimed to evaluate the accessibility conditions to various campus environments of a public education institution and the satisfaction of special needs students (hearing and physical) enrolled in higher education with regard to structural, operational, psycho-affective and attitudinal. The study is justified since the accessibility conditions and student satisfaction can directly impact the permanence and success in the course of studies. To achieve the proposed objectives, two research instruments were used: the Satisfaction and Attitudes Scale and the Protocol for Accessibility Assessment in Higher Education Institutions. The research is a quantitative and qualitative approach, case study type. The results showed that student satisfaction varies according to their specific needs. The psycho-affective satisfaction received the highest rating from the students, indicating that they feel included in the institution and supported by teachers and classmates. In addition, a number of accessible elements were verified in the institution, but there was a need for some adjustments.
