Resumo: This study aimed to investigate the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic production in the field of scientific communication. To achieve this objective, we conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) in which we searched the Web of Science, Scopus, and Dimensions databases using key expressions related to Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Communication. In a complementary way, bibliometric analysis was also used. The results revealed a significant growth in scientific production on AI since 2017, with an emphasis on the application of this technology in scientific communication and social media. The analysis of thematic evolution showed that topics related to AI and data mining played an influential role in the development and consolidation of the field of scientific communication over the past two decades. Additionally, the analysis of geographic distribution revealed an imbalance in academic production networks in these two areas of study, with a higher concentration of activity in the global north. Through co-citation analysis, we were able to infer a positive correlation between highly relevant topics and the number of citations received. These findings provide valuable insights for the academic community, encouraging the adoption of strategies that promote global collaboration and the development of comprehensive research on the impact and applications of AI in scientific communication.

Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências - UNESP-Marília2024-02-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmltext/csvhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/1522410.36311/1981-1640.2024.v18.e024004Brazilian Journal of Information Science: research trends; v. 18 (2024): publicação contínua; e024004Brazilian Journal of Information Science: Research Trends; Vol. 18 (2024): Continuous publishing; e024004Brazilian Journal of Information Science: Research Trends; Vol. 18 (2024): Publicación continua; e0240041981-16401981-1640reponame:Brazilian Journal of Information Scienceinstname:Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)instacron:UNESPporhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/15224/15909https://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/15224/15910https://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/15224/15912Copyright (c) 2024 Marllus de Melo Lustosa, Maria Giovanna Guedes Farias, Gabriela Belmont de Fariashttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLustosa, Marllus de MeloFarias, Maria Giovanna GuedesFarias, Gabriela Belmont de2024-02-02T21:14:03Zoai:ojs.revistas.marilia.unesp.br:article/15224Revistahttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/indexPUBhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/oaibrajis.marilia@unesp.br||1981-16401981-1640opendoar:2024-02-02T21:14:03Brazilian Journal of Information Science - Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)false
