Resumo: Green Chemistry, through its principles, seeks to educate citizens in education, in addition to deepening the content of Chemistry. Therefore, this work aimed to verify how the Green Chemistry approach is given in the teaching of Chemistry to the high school level, through a Systematic Review of Literature. In the bibliographic research, a research protocol was produced, using inclusion and exclusion criteria, with the selection of articles made in the Google academic databases and CAPES portal. The results were evaluated by content analysis, with the categories emerging from the similarities between the articles. The results indicated gaps in the approach of Green Chemistry in Chemistry Teaching, among them, teacher training, due to the lack of subjects related to Green Chemistry in the curriculum of training courses. Strategies and didactic instruments do not use all approaches of Green Chemistry, commonly only illustrative experiments of the application and adaptation to its principles and citizen formation occurs when using various didactic resources, which has the potential to improve.
