Resumo: Introduction: In the perception of life in general, an important measure of impact on health refers to quality of life. In this perspective, this study aimed to understand the self-perception about quality of life in university nursing students. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, quantitative study, carried out with 43 undergraduate nursing students. Data collection in 2019, with interview: instrument developed by the authors and WHOQOL-BREF Questionnaire. The data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, ANOVA 1 factor and Fisher's exact test. The research was submitted to and approved by the Research Ethics Committee. Results: The characterization of the participants revealed that 40 (93.0%) were female, aged between 17 and 52 years. The general perception of quality of life was 4.1, a result that classifies them with good quality of life. It is noteworthy that there is no category “needs to improve” in the perception of quality of life, and the category “very good” in the physical, psychological and environmental domains. Discussion: In the perception of quality of life, the general average score was 4.116, a fact that classifies students with good quality of life, however, there is a slope over the years of graduation. Conclusions: It is emphasized the importance of the university knowing the needs of the students and inserting methods and treatments with a network of multiprofessional supports that help in improving this quality of life, including in the care plan the social inclusion and the existing diversity in current days in academic settings.
