Notions of law, citizenship and democracy in Brazilian school curriculum: for a new teaching practice

Resumo: Currently, it is necessary to readjust curricular and teaching practices in order to encourage the formation of the citizen in elementary school students school students. Thus, basic notions of law, constitutional principles and rights and obligations within society become imperative for the construction of a citizen with a critical and politicized mind. In this way, the aim is to demonstrate the importance of the theme and the means to carry out this construction.  It is understood that by providing such knowledge in the school curriculum, the student will be able to understand the social and economic situation of Brazil and be able to analyze more adequately the political structure of the country, ruled by democracy. Thus, the relevance of curricular re-adaptation is highlighted, providing notions of law and citizenship in schools.

Así, nociones básicas de derecho, de principios constitucionales y de derechos y obligaciones dentro de la sociedad se hacen imperiosas para la construcción de un ciudadano con una mentalidad crítica y politizada. Se objetiva de esa manera, demostrar la importancia de la temática y los medios para realizar esa construcción. Se entiende que al proporcionar tales conocimientos en el currículo escolar, el alumno podrá comprender la situación social y económica de Brasil además de poder analizar más adecuadamente la estructura política del país, pautada por la democracia. Siendo así, se destaca la relevancia de la readecuación curricular propiciando nociones de derecho y ciudadanía en las escuelas.Atualmente faz-se necessária uma readequação curricular e de práticas docentes no intuito de fomentar nos estudantes do ensino básico a formação do cidadão. Assim, noções básicas de direito, de princípios constitucionais e de direitos e obrigações dentro da sociedade se fazem imperiosas para construção de um cidadão com uma mentalidade crítica e politizada. Objetiva-se dessa maneira, demonstrar a importância da temática e os meios para realizar essa construção. Entende-se que ao proporcionar tais conhecimentos no currículo escolar, o aluno poderá compreender a situação social e econômica do Brasil além de poder analisar mais adequadamente a estrutura política do país, pautada pela democracia.
