Reflecting on the rural school in Spain

Resumo: The rural school is conceptualized as an educational center that is far from the urban context. Multiple scientific evidences have been published and they corroborate that this institution has undergone major modifications, in recent years, its operation and internal organization having been modified. The objective of this article is to analyze which are the scientific contributions that have been published, on rural schools, in the last ten years. To this end, a search for systematized information has been carried out within two databases, establishing a procedure with four well differentiated phases: 1) Establishment of search criteria; 2) Gross selection of documents; 3) Analysis of the information and; 4) Categorization of information. The results obtained corroborate that the documents studied, there have been fifteen in total, can be classified into four categories: a) Reality of the current rural school; b) Satisfaction and teacher training; c) Digitization of rural schools and; d) Rural school as a means of local development, research and innovation. To conclude, it is essential to continue conducting research on the institution of rural schools in order to find possible barriers to learning for students from rural environments. In this way, a true educational inclusion will be developed that responds to the needs of all students.

Se han publicado múltiples evidencias científicas que corroboran que esta institución ha sufrido grandes modificaciones en los años recientes, habiéndose visto modificado su funcionamiento y su organización interna. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar cuáles son las aportaciones científicas que han sido publicadas, sobre la escuela rural, en los últimos diez años. Con este fin, ha sido realizada una búsqueda de información sistematizada dentro de dos bases de datos, estableciendo un procedimiento de cuatro fases bien diferenciadas: 1) Establecimiento de criterios de búsqueda; 2)  Selección bruta de documentos; 3) Análisis de la información y; 4) Categorización de la información. Los resultados obtenidos corroboran que los documentos estudiados, han sido quince en total, pueden ser clasificados en cuatro categorías: a) Realidad de la escuela rural actual; b) Satisfacción y formación del profesorado; c) Digitalización de la escuela rural y; d) Escuela rural como medio de desarrollo local, de investigación y de innovación. Para concluir, se resalta  esencial seguir realizando investigaciones sobre la institución de la escuela rural con el objetivo de hallar posibles barreras para el aprendizaje de los alumnos de entornos rurales. De este modo, se desarrollará una verdadera inclusión educativa que responda a las necesidades de todos los estudiantes.A escola rural é conceituada como um centro educacional distante do contexto urbano. Múltiplas evidências científicas têm sido publicadas que corroboram que esta instituição sofreu grandes modificações nos últimos anos, tendo visto seu funcionamento e organização interna. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as contribuições científicas publicadas sobre as escolas rurais nos últimos dez anos. Para tal, procedeu-se à procura de informação sistematizada em duas bases de dados, estabelecendo um procedimento com quatro fases bem diferenciadas: 1) Estabelecimento dos critérios de procura; 2) Seleção bruta de documentos; 3) Análise das informações e; 4) Categorização da informação. Os resultados obtidos corroboram que os documentos estudados, ao todo são quinze, podem ser classificados em quatro categorias: a) Realidade da escola rural atual; b) Satisfação e formação de professores; c) Digitalização de escolas rurais e; d) Escola rural como meio de desenvolvimento local, pesquisa e inovação. Para concluir, é imprescindível dar continuidade às pesquisas sobre a instituição de escolas rurais, a fim de encontrar possíveis barreiras de aprendizagem para alunos de ambientes rurais.
