Investigation about factores related to evasion in distance education courses from tutors point of view

Resumo: Distance education has been growing steeply across the globe, of course, such growth has been accompanied by many problems and challenges. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate some factors that may be related to dropout in Accounting and Administration courses in a private Uviversity in Pernambuco state (Brazil) from the perspective of tutors who work in these respective courses. The methodology used was exploratory research using a semi-structured questionnaire applied to 13 tutors from the mentioned courses, characterizing the research as a case study. The results showed that among the factors that were most related to dropout in distance learning courses, from the point of view of tutors, were: lack of time for the student to dedicate to distance learning activities, financial difficulties and personal problems. More studies are needed to better understand which factors most explain dropout in distance learning courses.

More studies are needed to better understand which factors most explain dropout in distance learning courses.La educación a distancia ha crecido vertiginosamente en todo el mundo; por supuesto, dicho crecimiento ha estado acompañado de muchos problemas y desafíos. Por lo tanto, este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar algunos factores que pueden estar relacionados con la deserción en los cursos de Contabilidad y Administración en una IES privada del estado de Pernambuco desde la perspectiva de los tutores que laboran en estos respectivos cursos. La metodología utilizada fue la investigación exploratoria mediante un cuestionario semiestructurado aplicado a 13 tutores de los cursos mencionados, caracterizando la investigación como un estudio de caso. Los resultados mostraron que entre los factores que más se relacionaron con la deserción en los cursos de educación a distancia, desde el punto de vista de los tutores, se encontraban: falta de tiempo para que el alumno se dedique a actividades de educación a distancia, dificultades económicas y problemas personales. Se necesitan más estudios para comprender mejor qué factores explican más la deserción en los cursos de educación a distancia.A educação a distância vem crescendo abruptamente em todo o planeta, logicamente, tal crescimento vem acompanhado de muitos problemas e muitos desafios. Portanto, este trabalho teve por objetivo investigar alguns fatores que podem estar relacionados com a evasão nos Cursos de Ciências Contábeis e Administração em uma IES privada do estado de Pernambuco sob a ótica dos tutores que atuam nesses respectivos cursos. A metodologia utilizada foi a  pesquisa exploratório com utilização de um questionário semi-estruturado aplicado em 13 tutores dos cursos mencionados, caracterizando a pesquisa como um estudo de caso. Os resultados apontaram que dentre os fatores que mais se relacionaram com a evasão no cursos da modalidade EaD, sob o ponto de vista dos tutores, foram: falta de tempo do aluno para se dedicar às atividades EaD, dificuldades financeiras e problemas pessoais.
