Resumo: The present study aims to reflect on the academic itinerary of the undergraduate nursing student. This is a reflective theoretical essay built from the authors' critical thinking and experiences, theoretically supported by scientific publications. Among the various reasons that lead young people to choose the nursing profession, interest and aptitudes, the need for professional advancement in the field of nursing, family influence and, finally, the failure to access courses in other areas of care stand out. health. Different course proposals stand out in the national scenario, with different variations in workloads, type of offer, curricular structures and offer of very diversified subjects and experiences, and educational proposals that reflect innovative curricula that overcome hegemonic practices are rare. This study was guided by reflections on situations that undergraduate students may face as daily academic demands, in order to provide knowledge and support educational institutions in the proposition and implementation of undergraduate nursing courses and student support actions.

Este es un ensayo teórico reflexivo construido a partir del pensamiento crítico y las experiencias de los autores, sustentado teóricamente en publicaciones científicas. Entre los diversos motivos que llevan a los jóvenes a elegir la profesión de enfermería, el interés y las aptitudes, destacan la necesidad de promoción profesional en el campo de la enfermería, la influencia familiar y, por último, la imposibilidad de acceder a cursos en otras áreas del cuidado de la salud. En el escenario nacional destacan diferentes propuestas de cursos, con distintas variaciones en carga horaria, tipo de oferta, estructuras curriculares y oferta de materias y experiencias muy diversificadas, siendo escasas las propuestas educativas que reflejen currículos innovadores que superen prácticas hegemónicas. Este estudio fue guiado por reflexiones sobre situaciones que los estudiantes de graduación pueden enfrentar como demandas académicas diarias, con el fin de proporcionar conocimiento y apoyar a las instituciones educativas en la propuesta e implementación de cursos de graduación en enfermería y acciones de apoyo a los estudiantes.O presente estudo tem por objetivo refletir sobre o itinerário acadêmico do estudante de graduação em enfermagem. Trata-se de um ensaio teórico reflexivo construído a partir do pensamento crítico e das experiências das autoras, apoiado teoricamente por publicações científicas. Dentre os variados motivos que levam os jovens à escolha da profissão de enfermeiro destacam-se o interesse e aptidões, a necessidade de ascensão profissional na área da enfermagem, a influência familiar e, por fim, o insucesso no acesso a cursos de outras áreas da saúde. Destacam-se no cenário nacional diferentes propostas de cursos, com variações distintas de cargas horárias, modalidade de oferta, estruturas curriculares e oferta de disciplinas e experiências muito diversificadas, sendo raras as propostas educacionais que refletem currículos inovadores que superem práticas hegemônicas.
