Gender as an object of research in Social Representations

Resumo: The present article proposes to present through a bibliographical research a brief discussion about the importance of the study of gender as an object of research in social representations, as a social construction generally used to reinforce the power relations existing in our environment. The theoretical approach is based on the studies developed in the area of Gender and brings as a thread the theory developed by Moscovici (1978), which allows us to analyze how social groups understand phenomena of reality.

El enfoque teórico se basa en los estudios desarrollados en el área de Género y trae como hilo conductor la teoría desarrollada por Moscovici (1978), que nos permite analizar el modo como los grupos sociales comprenden fenómenos de la realidad.O presente artigo se propõe a apresentar por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica uma breve discussão sobre a importância do estudo de gênero como objeto de pesquisa em representações sociais, enquanto construção social geralmente utilizada para reforçar as relações de poder existentes em nosso meio.
