Analyses of the Learning of concepts of the Astronomy in Elementary Education

Resumo: | The curricular proposal of the State of São Paulo (Brazil) suggests for Elementary Education in the discipline of Sciences contents related to Astronomy. In a public basic school in Santo André, an analysis was realized to examine the previous knowledge of three classes of the 6th year. Only 19,0% of the students reached the minimal satisfactory note. In the same year, the contents were presented with different teaching strategies. In one class, an expository lesson with audiovisual aids was applied, in a second class an expository lesson with dialog and in the third one, a research by means of didactical books was conducted, elaborated using instruments and signs of agreement the intellectual development proposed by Vygotsky. The case study methodology was used to investigate and analyze the students' performance and analysis of variance (ANOVA) to test which strategy was most efficient. After the approach, it was observed that there was an improvement in the performance of the pupils, however the statistical difference between the three strategies was not significant. By this study it became possible to undertake analyses of learning and teaching strategies to improve the astronomy education in the discipline of science. |

En una escuela pública estatal de Santo André, se llevó a cabo un levantamiento del conocimiento previo de tres clases de estudiantes del sexto año de la primaria. Solamente 19,0% de los alumnos alcanzaron la nota mínima satisfactoria. En el mismo año los contenidos fueron abordados con diferentes estrategias de enseñanza. En una clase se utilizó aulas expositivas con ayuda de recursos audiovisuales, en otra, expositivas dialogadas y en la tercera clase, investigaron con libros didáctico elaborados, utilizando instrumento y signos de acuerdo con el desarrollo intelectual propuesto por Vygostsky. Fue utilizada la metodología de estudio de caso para investigar y analizar el rendimiento de los alumnos y análisis de variación (ANOVA) para probar cual estrategia aplicada fue más eficiente. Después del abordaje observó que había mejoría en el desempeño de los alumnos, por lo tanto la diferencia estadística entre las tres estrategias no fue significativa. A través de ese estudio se convirtió posible realizar análisis de aprendizaje y de estrategia de enseñanza para mejorar la enseñanza de astronomía en la disciplina de ciencias.A proposta curricular do estado de São Paulo (Brasil), na disciplina de ciências, sugere conteúdos relacionados à astronomia no ensino fundamental. Em uma escola pública estadual de Santo André, realizou-se um levantamento do conhecimento prévio de três turmas do sexto ano do ensino Fundamental. Somente 19,0% dos alunos atingiram a nota mínima satisfatória. No mesmo ano os conteúdos foram abordados com diferentes estratégias de ensino. Em uma turma utilizou-se aulas expositivas com auxílio de recursos audiovisuais, em outra, aulas expositivas dialogadas e na terceira turma, pesquisas em livros didáticos, elaboradas utilizando instrumentos e signos de acordo o desenvolvimento intelectual proposto por Vygotsky. Utilizou-se a metodologia de estudo de caso para investigar e analisar o rendimento dos alunos e análise de variância (ANOVA) para testar qual estratégia aplicada foi mais eficiente. Após a abordagem observou-se que houve uma melhora no desempenho dos alunos, no entanto a diferença estatística entre as três estratégias não foi significativa.
