Nutritional and food profile of the adult population: an integrative review

Resumo: | The consumption of processed and ultra-processed foods is increasing in Latin America, contributing to the increase in overweight and obesity. This paper aims to: investigate and profile the adult Brazilian population. Methodology: an integrative, qualitative and quantitative review study with an exploratory approach. Having as electronic data bases: Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Virtual Health Library (VHL). Following the steps: elaboration of the research question to produce the integrative review; search for primary studies according to predetermined criteria; data extraction: evaluation of included research and analysis of extracted data. The identification of the research question was defined after a search for articles in the literature that reported on the nutritional and food profile of the Brazilian adult population. 12 original articles were selected indexed in the selected databases, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, between the years 2016 and 2020. Conclusion: In view of the data obtained, a high consumption profile of processed, ultra-processed, poor food is evident in fibers, fruits and vegetables, a high-protein, high-fat diet, negatively influencing nutritional status, being overweight and obese, having said that, it is evident that informational measures on nutrition need to be taken to prevent and maintain the Brazilian population. |

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo: investigar y perfilar la población adulta brasileña. Metodología: estudio de revisión integrativa, cualitativa y cuantitativa con enfoque exploratorio. Teniendo como bases de datos electrónicas: Google Scholar, ScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO) y Virtual Health Library (BVS) Siguiendo los pasos: elaboración de la pregunta de investigación para la elaboración de la revisión integradora; búsqueda de estudios primarios según criterios predeterminados; extracción de datos; evaluación de la investigación incluida y análisis de los datos extraídos. La identificación de la pregunta de investigación se definió luego de una búsqueda de artículos en la literatura que informaron sobre el perfil nutricional y alimentario de la población adulta brasileña.Se seleccionaron 12 artículos originales de las bases de datos seleccionadas, en portugués, inglés y español, entre los años de 2016 y 2020. Conclusión: A la vista de los datos obtenidos, se evidencia un perfil dietético de alto consumo de alimentos procesados, ultraprocesados, bajos en fibra, frutas y verduras, una dieta hiperproteica, hiperlipídica, que influye negativamente en el estado nutricional, el sobrepeso y la obesidad. Dicho esto, es evidente que se deben tomar medidas informativas sobre alimentos para prevenir y mantener a la población brasileña.O consumo de alimentos processados e ultras processados são crescentes na América Latina, contribuindo para o aumento do sobrepeso e da obesidade. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo: investigar e traçar o perfil da população adulta brasileira. Metodologia: estudo de revisão integrativa, qualitativa e quantitativa com abordagem exploratória. Tendo como bases de dados eletrônicos: Google Acadêmico, ScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO) e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS). Seguindo as etapas: elaboração da questão de pesquisa para produção da revisão integrativa; busca de estudos primários de acordo com os critérios pré-determinados; extração de dados; avaliação das pesquisas incluídas e análise dos dados extraídos. A identificação da questão de pesquisa foi definida após uma busca de artigos na literatura que relatavam sobre o perfil nutricional e alimentar da população adulta Brasileira. Foram selecionados12 artigos originaisindexado nas bases de dados selecionadas, nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol, entre os anos de 2016 e 2020.
