Academic perception on the relationship between study group participation and evaluation performance

Resumo: The race for higher education training has grown and, as a result, it has become necessary for students to constantly seek strategies that will make learning more meaningful, with the study group being an option. Thus, this study aims to analyze the perception of academics about the relationship between participation in study groups and performance in assessments. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The same was carried out with academics regularly enrolled in the Physiotherapy course of a private higher education institution. And the data collection took place through a questionnaire containing objective questions, using the Google Forms online platform. As a result, it was observed that academics attach considerable importance to participation in study groups as a way to improve their knowledge through mutual exchange of knowledge and constant encouragement to study. However, there was a reduction in dedication to studies in the remote modality, when compared to the face-to-face modality, as well as an increase in the negative perception about academic performance. We emphasize the importance of adopting future strategies that further minimize the challenges inherent to higher education and that encourage students to seek to dedicate themselves to study, regardless of the teaching modality. Study groups, therefore, become an instrument of interaction that can facilitate this learning process for academics to obtain a good performance in assessments.

Así, este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la percepción de los académicos sobre la relación entre participación en grupos de estudio y desempeño en evaluaciones. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo transversal con abordaje cuantitativo. Lo mismo se llevó a cabo con académicos matriculados regularmente en el curso de Fisioterapia de una institución privada de educación superior. Y la recogida de datos se realizó a través de un cuestionario con preguntas objetivas, utilizando la plataforma online Google Forms. Como resultado, se observó que los académicos otorgan una importancia considerable a la participación en grupos de estudio como una forma de mejorar sus conocimientos a través del intercambio mutuo de conocimientos y el estímulo constante al estudio. Sin embargo, hubo una reducción en la dedicación a los estudios en la modalidad remota, en comparación con la modalidad presencial, así como un aumento en la percepción negativa sobre el rendimiento académico. Destacamos la importancia de adoptar estrategias de futuro que minimicen aún más los desafíos inherentes a la educación superior y que alienten a los estudiantes a buscar dedicarse al estudio, independientemente de la modalidad docente. Los grupos de estudio, por tanto, se convierten en un instrumento de interacción que puede facilitar este proceso de aprendizaje para que los académicos obtengan un buen desempeño en las evaluaciones.A corrida pela formação no ensino superior cresceu e, com isso, fez-se necessário que os educandos buscassem constantemente estratégias que venham a tornar a aprendizagem mais significativa, sendo o grupo de estudos uma opção. Deste modo, este estudo tem por objetivo analisar a percepção de acadêmicos sobre a relação entre a participação em grupos de estudo e rendimento em avaliações. Trata-se de uma pesquisa transversal, descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa. A mesma foi realizada com acadêmicos regularmente matriculados no curso de Fisioterapia de uma instituição de ensino superior privada. E a coleta de dados ocorreu através de um questionário contendo questões objetivas, utilizando a plataforma on-line Google Forms. Como resultado, observou-se que os acadêmicos atribuem uma importância considerável a participação em grupos de estudo como forma de aperfeiçoarem seus conhecimentos através das trocas mútuas de conhecimentos e do incentivo constante ao estudo. Contudo, evidenciou-se uma redução da dedicação aos estudos na modalidade remota, quando comparada com a modalidade presencial, bem como aumento da percepção negativa sobre o desempenho acadêmico. Ressalta-se a importância de adotar estratégias futuras que minimizem ainda mais os desafios inerentes ao ensino superior e que incentivem os alunos a buscarem dedicar-se ao estudo, independe da modalidade de ensino.
