Realistic simulation: use and benefits for teaching - learning nursing diagnostic reasoning

Resumo: Objective: to evaluate the use of students' learning about nursing diagnostic reasoning, through realistic simulation. Methodology: cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, developed at a public university in Northeast Brazil with students from the last year of the Nursing Undergraduate Course. For the evaluation, the students answered an evaluation instrument on realistic simulation with 11 questions, using a 5-point Likert scale. The ethical principles of research with human beings were respected. Results: the evaluation of the students' learning performance presented higher means (5.0) for the following items: simulation as a teaching-learning strategy, made it possible to develop the diagnostic reasoning, made it possible to develop the clinical judgment, recommend the realistic simulation for teaching the graduation and lowest average (3.87) for the item adequate time. Conclusion: The study identified that students usefully evaluated learning about nursing diagnostic reasoning, through realistic simulation. Realistic simulation presents itself with a teaching strategy for the development of nursing diagnostic reasoning and clinical judgment for bringing theory and practice closer together, contributing to the formation of critical and reflective professionals better prepared to act on current everyday problems.

Metodología: estudio transversal, con un enfoque cuantitativo, desarrollado en una universidad pública del noreste de Brasil con estudiantes del último año del curso de pregrado en enfermería. Para la evaluación, los estudiantes respondieron un instrumento de evaluación sobre simulación realista con 11 preguntas, usando una escala Likert de 5 puntos. Se respetaron los principios éticos de la investigación con seres humanos. Resultados: la evaluación del rendimiento de aprendizaje de los estudiantes presentó promedios más altos (5.0) para los siguientes ítems: la simulación como estrategia de enseñanza-aprendizaje, permitió desarrollar el razonamiento diagnóstico, permitió desarrollar el juicio clínico y recomendar simulación realista para enseñar a los estudiantes graduación y promedio más bajo (3.87) para el ítem tiempo adecuado. Conclusión: El estudio identificó que los estudiantes evaluaron útilmente el aprendizaje sobre el razonamiento diagnóstico de enfermería, a través de simulación realista. La simulación realista se presenta con una estrategia de enseñanza para el desarrollo del razonamiento diagnóstico de enfermería y el juicio clínico para acercar la teoría y la práctica, contribuyendo a la formación de profesionales críticos y reflexivos mejor preparados para actuar sobre los problemas cotidianos actuales.Objetivo: avaliar o aproveitamento da aprendizagem de alunos sobre o raciocínio diagnóstico de enfermagem, pro meio da simulação realística. Metodologia: estudo transversal, com abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido em uma universidade pública do Nordeste do Brasil com estudantes do último ano do Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem. Para a avaliação, os discentes responderam a um instrumento de avaliação sobre simulação realística com 11 questões, por meio de uma escala tipo Likert de 5 pontos. Foram respeitados os princípios éticos de pesquisa com seres humanos. Resultados: a avaliação do aproveitamento da aprendizagem de alunos apresentou maiores médias (5) para os seguintes itens: simulação como estratégia ensino-aprendizagem, possibilitou desenvolver o raciocínio diagnostico, possibilitou desenvolver o julgamento clínico, recomendaria a simulação realística para ensino dos de na graduação e menor média (3,87) para o item tempo adequado. Conclusão: O estudo identificou que os discentes avaliaram de forma proveitosa o aprendizado sobre o raciocínio diagnóstico de enfermagem, por meio da simulação realística.
