Generations Y and Z and their perceptions of occupational safety and health

Resumo: | The concept of generation encompasses the set of individuals born at different times, influenced by a historical context, which determines behavior, causing a direct impact on the evolution of society and, mainly, on the work environment. This study aimed to analyze the behaviors of Generations Y and Z, pointing out the causes and differences in the way of thinking and proceeding regarding the perception of risk factors for safety and health at work. We sought to understand the main meanings referenced to work by the individuals of these two generations, what their ways of thinking and acting on a daily basis in society, the view that other generations conceive of them and, still, some similarities and differences between generations surveyed. To this end, a qualitative research was carried out, in which data were collected through a questionnaire answered by individuals belonging to Generations Y and Z operating in the market. After analysis, it was found that the characteristics pointed out for Generations Y and Z occur in line with what is prescribed in the researched literature. Actions were proposed to improve the perception of occupational health and safety risks for the generations under study. |

Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar los comportamientos de las generaciones Y y Z, señalando las causas y diferencias en la forma de pensar y proceder con respecto a la percepción de los factores de riesgo para la seguridad y la salud en el trabajo. Intentamos comprender los principales significados a los que hacen referencia los trabajadores de estas dos generaciones, cuáles son sus formas de pensar y actuar diariamente en la sociedad, la visión que otras generaciones los conciben y, aún así, algunas similitudes y diferencias entre generaciones. encuestados Con este fin, se llevó a cabo una investigación cualitativa, en la cual los datos fueron recolectados a través de un cuestionario respondido por individuos pertenecientes a las Generaciones Y y Z que operan en el mercado. Después del análisis, fue posible verificar que las características señaladas para las Generaciones Y y Z ocurren de acuerdo con lo prescrito en la literatura investigada. Se propusieron acciones para mejorar la percepción de los riesgos de salud y seguridad en el trabajo para las generaciones en estudio.O conceito de geração engloba o conjunto de indivíduos nascidos em épocas distintas, influenciados por um contexto histórico, que determina o comportamento, causando impacto direto na evolução da sociedade e, principalmente, no ambiente de trabalho. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar os comportamentos das Gerações Y e Z, apontando as causas e as diferenças na forma de pensar e proceder quanto à percepção dos fatores de riscos de segurança e saúde no trabalho. Buscou-se compreender os principais sentidos referenciados ao trabalho pelos indivíduos dessas duas gerações, quais seus modos de pensar e agir no dia a dia na sociedade, a visão que as demais gerações concebem sobre eles e, ainda, algumas semelhanças e diferenças entre as gerações pesquisadas. Para tal, realizou-se uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, na qual foram coletados dados por meio de questionário respondido por indivíduos pertencentes às Gerações Y e Z atuantes no mercado. Após análises, pôde-se constatar que as características apontadas para as Gerações Y e Z ocorrem em consonância com o prescrito nas literaturas pesquisadas.
