ANALYSIS OF THE IMPORTANCE GIVEN TO THE DROPOUT BY BRAZILIAN RESEARCHERS

Resumo: | The aim of this study was to evaluate whether the dropout problem is being considered and analyze the importance of humanization in online courses. It was used the documental research to determine the main reasons of evasion in distance courses and verify if this problem is being studied by Brazilian researches. The articles electronic search engines “periódicos CAPES” and PUBMED were used to find Brazilian research publications on the last seven years. Besides, to understand if the dropout problem is being considered in Brazil, all studies related to dropout, presented on the International Meetings organized by the Brazilian association of distance learning, between 2001 and 2014, were evaluated. It was observed that the number of research related to evasion is minimal and also that lack of time and particular problems are the main reasons for the distance course dropout. In conclusion, it was observed that the main reasons of dropout are not associated to course structure, that the evasion problem should receive the attention that it requires, and also that the relation between the dropout and the lack of human interaction should be considered. |

Foi utilizada a pesquisa documental para determinar os principais motivos da evasão em cursos à distância e verificar se esse problema vem sendo considerado por pesquisadores Brasileiros. Foi realizado um levantamento dos artigos de instituições brasileiras publicados em periódicos encontrados na plataforma de periódicos da CAPES e no PUBMED nos últimos sete anos. Em seguida para entender a importância dada ao problema da evasão no Brasil levantou-se o número de pesquisas sobre o tema “evasão” avaliando-se os trabalhos publicados nos Anais dos Congressos Internacionais organizados pela Associação Brasileira de Educação a Distância, entre os anos de 2001 e 2014. Observou-se que o número de pesquisas relacionadas ao tema evasão é ínfimo e que a falta de tempo e os problemas pessoais são tidos como os principais motivos para desistir de um curso a distância.
