Resumo: The teaching of the indigenous people history is a fundamental issue for building a just and equitable society. Its inclusion in the legislation comes from the modification of the previous law that contemplated the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian History, constituted by Law 11.645 of 2008. The objective of this article is to present what has been produced and discussed regarding Indigenous History in Brazil, through the survey and analysis of publications that include the descriptors Law 11,645 and indigenous people. In general, it is possible to point out that the productions recognize the legislation as a commitment to preserving the memory and identity of indigenous peoples, and the possibility of an intercultural education; however, they also indicate the limits of law enforcement, since stereotyped views are still present, the sporadic treatment of the theme, and, generally, arising from the individual initiative of teachers
