Resumo: This paper discusses the first stage of the project "Different languages, teaching materials and school culture: as a resource to bring up the school work" where we tried to characterize the group of teachers formed, define the languages most used by these participants school everyday and define what are multiple languages. We used a literature in the university's own database, and application of a questionnaire and tabulation of the data. As initial results it was noticed that teachers are unaware of some languages and prioritize the use of other and that there are few studies in this area. Also, there is greater interest of early childhood professionals to work with multiple languages and pedagogical documentation.

Also, there is greater interest of early childhood professionals to work with multiple languages and pedagogical documentation.O presente trabalho aborda a primeira etapa do projeto "Diferentes linguagens, documentação pedagógica e cultura escolar: como recurso para tornar visível o trabalho da escola" em que procurou-se caracterizar o grupo de docentes formado, definir quais as linguagens mais utilizadas por esses participantes no cotidiano da escola e definir o que são múltiplas linguagens. Utilizou-se de um levantamento bibliográfico no banco de dados da própria universidade, e da aplicação de um questionário e da tabulação dos dados obtidos. Como resultados iniciais percebeuse que os professores desconhecem algumas linguagens e priorizam a utilização de outras e que há poucos trabalhos nessa área.
