Bender Test (Adaptation Koppitz) and R-2 Non Verbal Children Intelligence Test

Resumo: | This research intended to verify if there are relationship between the g factor of iintelligence, assessed by the R-2 non verbal of intelligence test and children’s visual-motor organization, measured by the test of Bender, adaptation of Koppitz. The sample was composed by 538 children of both sexes, students from Assis (SP), whose ages ranged from 4 years and 9 months to 11 years and 9 months, distributed in two groups according to the proportion of students enrolled on state and private schools. Results indicated a significant correlation of -0.702 between the total of scores of the tests. This correlation is negative, because in R-2 performance is scored by success and in Bender by mistakes. Although they are different abilities, it was found relationship between the general factor of the intelligence and the children’s visual-motor organization. This correlation had already been pointed by Koppitz. |

This correlation had already been pointed by Koppitz.Este estudio objetivó investigar la relación entre el factor g de la inteligencia evaluada por el test no verbal de inteligencia para niños R-2 y la organización visomotora medida por el test de Bender, adaptación de Koppitz. La muestra ha sido formada por 538 niños, de ambos sexos, de escuelas de la ciudad de Assis (SP), con edades desde 4 años y 9 meses hasta 11 años y 9 meses, obtenida de acuerdo com la proporción de participación de estudiantes registrados en las escuelas municipales e privadas, de ensenanza infantil y fundamental. Los resultados indicaran una correlación significante de -0,702 entre los totales de puntos de los dos tests. La correlación es negativa, ya que en el R-2 los puntos son relacionados a los aciertos y en el Bender relacionanse a errores. Aunque sean distintas habilidades, hay indicaciones de la relación entre el factor g de la inteligencia y la organización visomotora. Esta relación habia sido apuntada anteriomente por Koppitz.Esta pesquisa buscou verificar se existe relação entre o fator geral da inteligência, avaliado pelo teste não verbal de inteligência R-2, e a organização visomotora infantil, medida pelo teste de Bender, pela adaptação de Koppitz (1963, 1975, 1989). A amostra foi composta por 538 crianças de escolas do município de Assis (SP), de ambos os sexos, com idades entre 4 anos e 9 meses e 11 anos e 9 meses, obtida considerando a proporção da participação de alunos matriculados em escolas municipais e particulares, no ensino infantil e no ensino fundamental. Os resultados indicaram uma correlação significante de -0,702 entre os totais de pontos dos dois testes. A correlação é negativa, pois, no R-2, são pontuados os acertos, e, no Bender, os erros, indicando que existe relação entre o fator geral da inteligência e a organização visomotora das crianças, ainda que sejam habilidades diferentes.
