University library and higher education: in search of a strategic alignment

Resumo: It is proposed an assessment model that measures the alignment of the actions of Library University (UL) to undergraduate courses HEIs based on the key principle of alignment with the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), directed to the synergy of actions of libraries for undergraduate teaching police of IES. It aims to check the management of UL, the definition of an action strategy that allows the articulation with educational projects, and identification of factors that promote or hinder the strategic alignment of the libraries to the strategies of the courses. A study method was chosen, with the research environment beeing the Course of Oceanography and the Library of Rui Simões de Menezes, both based at the Institute of Marine Sciences (LABOMAR), Federal University of Ceará (UFC).

Teniendo como objetivos específicos la verificación de la gestión de la BU; la definición de una estrategia de acción que posibilite la articulación con los proyectos pedagógicos; y la identificación de factores que favorecen o dificultan el alineamiento estratégico de las BUs a las estrategias de los cursos. El estudio de caso fue elegido como método, teniendo como ambiente de investigación el Curso de Oceanografía y la Biblioteca Rui Simões de Menezes, ambos con sede en el Instituto de Ciências do Mar (LABOMAR), de la Universidad Federal de Ceará (UFC).É proposto um modelo de avaliação que meça o alinhamento das ações das Bibliotecas Universitárias (BUs) às políticas de ensino de graduação das Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) baseado no princípio-chave de alinhamento do Balanced Scorecard (BSC), dirigido à sinergia das ações das bibliotecas às políticas de ensino de graduação das IES. Tendo como objetivos específicos a verificação da gestão da BU; a definição de uma estratégia de ação que possibilite a articulação com os projetos pedagógicos; e a identificação dos fatores que favorecem ou dificultam o alinhamento estratégico das BUs às estratégias dos cursos.
