Resumo: Microorganisms are important for human health and teaching about these organisms are importante  to promote knowledge about them, so that people can understand their benefits and act in relation to diseases. As addressing microbiology content is often challenging for the teachers, continuing education is a tool that contributes to the teaching and learning process. Thus, the objective of this article is to present the “Didactic workshop Reinvents teaching: teaching microbiology” and highlight its contributions to the (re)construction of knowledge and teaching practices in the teaching of microbiology with an emphasis on health in Basic Education. The context of research-training is an online training process carried out with Science and Biology teachers. In the data collection, different instruments were used, such as questionnaires and training diary, evaluated with content analysis. During the training process, participants reported questions about teaching microbiology, such as the importance of prior knowledge and the relationship between microorganisms and everyday life, in addition to the challenges faced in approaching content in this area of knowledge. In addition, there were reflections, lessons learned and discoveries, demonstrating that the training process contributed with theoretical and methodological contributions that led to an interest in incorporating new strategies into pedagogical practice. Thus, it is evident that the development of training processes within the scope of continuing education can contribute with knowledge for the constitution of new meanings and practices regarding the teaching of microbiology with an emphasis on health.

Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amazonas2023-03-03info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/xmlhttps://sistemascmc.ifam.edu.br/educitec/index.php/educitec/article/view/209210.31417/educitec.v9.2092Educitec - Journal of Studies and Research on Technological Teaching ; Vol. 9 No. jan./dez.
