Commodification of High School Education in Pará State

Resumo: | Brazilian state of Pará has defined its educational policy accordingly to the Brazilian federal government proposals, such as entering into public-private partnerships for the betterment of education. On the face of it, this paper aims to reveal which are the strategies aligned with a market-based logic employed by the government to improve quality of high school education, through analyzing the “Pact for Education in Pará state”. Carrying out bibliographical research and document analysis, we found out that such strategies were the "ProEMI", "SEI" and "Mundiar" programs, all of which made use of audiovisual-based classes, altered curriculums and grounded them in corporative prescriptions, reduced the need for teachers in contact with students, replacing them for prerecorded lessons, not to mention other consequences stablished by private groups that enter public spaces and act partnering with the state when formulating educational policy. Commodification of high school education in Pará.Há alguns anos, o estado do Pará vem balizando sua política educacional em simetria com propostas do governo federal, como a celebração de parcerias público-privadas para melhoria da educação. Em face disso, este artigo objetiva desvelar quais as estratégias afinadas com a lógica mercantil, usadas pelo governo paraense para melhorar a qualidade do Ensino Médio, a partir da implementação do “Pacto pela Educação do Pará”. Por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, constatou-se que as estratégias foram o “ProEMI”, o “SEI” e o “Mundiar”, que fazem uso de teleaulas, alteram o currículo com base nos ditames empresariais, reduzem a necessidade de docentes em contato com os alunos e os substituem por aulas gravadas, além de outras consequências orquestradas por grupos privados, que adentram o espaço público e atuam junto ao Estado na formulação de políticas educacionais.
