The initial training in Special Education degree from the perspective of graduates

Resumo: The initial training of the teacher manifests itself as one of the most relevant moments of the professional development and the emptying and the disqualification that this stage of the teaching professionalization has suffered in recent times due to neoliberal provisions has become unsettling. In the Special Education’s field, the situation is even worse given the lack of initial training courses associated with a policy of continuing training and remotely. The present study of qualitative nature of the exploratory type aimed to investigate the importance of the initial training in Special Education Degree from the perspective of graduates. The results indicate that the specific initial training in the area seems to promote identity construction and professionalization since the moment the young people enter the university and this is strengthened as they advance in the course. In addition, the course seems to encourage positive attitudes related to the inclusion and the lessening of prejudice.

En el campo de la Educación Especial, la situación se agrava aún más dada la escasez de cursos de formación inicial, asociada a una política de formación continuada en la modalidad a distancia. El presente estudio de naturaleza cualitativa del tipo exploratorio, pretendía investigar la importancia de la formación inicial en Educación Especial, en la perspectiva de egresados. Los resultados indican que la formación inicial específica en el área parece favorecer la construcción de la identidad y la profesionalización desde el momento en que los jóvenes entran en la universidad, y eso se fortalece a medida que avanzan en el curso. Además, el curso parece alentar actitudes positivas relacionadas con la inclusión y la disminución de los prejuicios. A formação inicial do professor se configura como um dos momentos mais relevantes do desenvolvimento profissional, e se torna inquietante o esvaziamento e a desqualificação que essa etapa da profissionalização docente tem sofrido nos últimos tempos em virtude das disposições neoliberais. No campo da Educação Especial, a situação se agrava ainda mais dada a escassez de cursos de formação inicial, associada a uma política de formação continuada e na modalidade a distância. O presente estudo de natureza qualitativa do tipo exploratório, visou investigar a importância da formação inicial em Educação Especial, na perspectiva de egressos. Os resultados indicam que a formação inicial específica na área parece favorecer a construção da identidade e a profissionalização desde o momento em que os jovens entram na universidade, sendo que isso se fortalece na medida em que eles avançam no curso.
