Analysis of the approach of the Nature of Science and Technology in the books of “Biology” and “Health and Adolescence” from the topic of food

Resumo: In Argentina, more specifically in the Province of Buenos Aires, STS contents were included within the curricular designs of various subjects from the treatment of the Nature of Science and Technology. For this reason, this study focuses on the analysis of the contents of Nature of Science and Technology within the subject of food in two subjects: Biology and Health and Adolescence. To do this, 5 textbooks from different publishers were analyzed for each subject. A mixed methodology was used that included the categorization and analysis of the books. We found a significant presence of external sociology content of science throughout the whole approach to the contents of nutrition in both subjects. While the contents related to the epistemology were null in both subjects.

Por tal motivo, este estudio se aboca al análisis de los contenidos de Naturaleza de la Ciencia y la Tecnología dentro de la temática de alimentación en dos asignaturas: Biología y Salud y Adolescencia. Para ello, se analizaron 5 libros de texto de diferentes editoriales para cada asignatura. Se utilizó una metodología mixta que incluyó la categorización y análisis de los libros. Se encontró una significativa presencia de contenidos de sociología externa de la ciencia a lo largo de todo el abordaje de los contenidos de alimentación en ambas asignaturas. Mientras que los contenidos relacionados a la epistemología fueron nulos en ambas asignaturas.Na Argentina, mais especificamente na Província de Buenos Aires, os conteúdos da CTS foram incluídos nos projetos curriculares de vários assuntos do tratamento da Natureza da Ciência e Tecnologia. Por este motivo, este estudo enfoca a análise dos conteúdos da Natureza da Ciência e Tecnologia no tema da alimentação em dois temas: Biologia e Saúde e Adolescência. Para fazer isso, 5 livros didáticos de diferentes editores foram analisados para cada assunto. Utilizou-se uma metodologia mista que incluiu a categorização e análise dos livros. Encontramos uma presença significativa do conteúdo sociológico externo da ciência em toda a abordagem dos conteúdos de nutrição em ambos os assuntos.
