Resumo: This article presents the results of an investigation carried out with students of the 4th year of the teaching degree in Geography at the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), Pr and teachers of basic education in 2007 and 2008. The research tried to identify the formative possibilities that the teaching practice experience provided to the initial education of Geography students. This identification is based on students´ and teachers´ conceptions about the importance of the teaching practice to the future profession. The aim of the study is to reflect on the construction process and teaching professionalization development during the teaching practice in basic education schools. In this article, students´ evaluation of the teaching practice experience and of the undergraduate course are presented. The opinions of basic education teachers’ about the importance of the activities are also analyze.

The opinions of basic education teachers’ about the importance of the activities are also analyze.Este trabalho apresenta o resultado de uma investigação realizada com alunos do 4º ano do curso de Licenciatura em Geografia, da Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (UEPG) - PR, e com professores de escolas da educação básica (2007/2008). A pesquisa buscou identificar possibilidades formativas geradas pelas atividades de estágio curricular na formação inicial dos alunos da licenciatura em Geografia. Esse reconhecimento parte das concepções dos alunos sobre as contribuições do estágio diante da proposta de ser professor e dos professores das escolas de educação básica que os supervisionaram nas atividades de estágio, sobre a importância do estágio. Nosso objetivo é refletir sobre o processo de construção e desenvolvimento da profissionalidade docente em períodos de estágio curricular nas escolas de educação básica. Dentre as informações obtidas na pesquisa, apresentaremos neste texto a avaliação que os alunos fazem de suas experiências de estágio e do curso de graduação que frequentam.
