Resumo: The present research work proposes a didactic sequence that allows the collective construction of a guide of medicinal plants for public schools in the State of Rio de Janeiro, being located in an urban or rural area. Through the construction of a plant guide together with the students, it was possible to work on two distinct themes, but which have in common the fact that they are complicated contents to develop in the classroom and even mostly absent, which are botany and epidemiology. Since 80% of the people on the planet have already used or use plants to relieve or solve their health problems, the topic of medicinal plants was thought as a means of working with the contents of botany and epidemiology in a contextualized and practical way, with the students from highschool. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic and the suspension of face-to-face classes, this study was able to list 15 medicinal plants present in the school community. Online forms were used to apply investigative questionnaires to students and the snowball sampling technique was used to collect information on medicinal plants cited by the individuals interviewed by the students. At the end of the work, it was possible to establish a didactic sequence and a digital guide that should be continued, improved and developed with the students of the next academic years, in the form of a project developed in extra-class activities. It was also possible to organize a vegetable garden in the participating school and the work was included in the set of didactic projects developed throughout the school year at the school unit.

Através da construção de um guia de plantas junto com os discentes, foi possível trabalhar duas temáticas distintas, mas que apresentam em comum o fato de serem conteúdos complicados de desenvolver em sala de aula e até mesmo ausentes em sua maioria que são: botânica e epidemiologia. Visto que 80% das pessoas do planeta já utilizaram ou usam plantas para aliviar ou resolver os seus problemas de saúde, buscou-se o tema plantas medicinais como meio de trabalhar os conteúdos de botânica e de epidemiologia de forma contextualizada e prática, junto aos discentes do ensino médio. Mesmo com a pandemia do COVID-19 e da suspensão das aulas presenciais o presente trabalho foi capaz de elencar 15 plantas medicinais presentes na comunidade escolar. Foram utilizados formulários online para aplicação dos questionários investigativos nos discentes e feito o uso da técnica de amostragem bola de neve para coletar as informações de plantas medicinais citadas pelos indivíduos entrevistados pelos discentes. Ao fim do trabalho, foi possível estabelecer uma sequência didática e um guia digital que deve sercontinuado, aprimorado e desenvolvido com os discentes dos próximos anos letivos, na forma de projeto desenvolvido em atividades extraclasses.
