POPULATION GEOGRAPHY AND TEACHING PRACTICE: the proposal of a guidebook from the sexual diversity perspective

Resumo: This research results from the reflections prompted in the discipline Teaching Practice, offered by the Undergraduate Licentiate Program of Geography at the Federal University of Viçosa. In this subject, we prepared a guidebook containing geography content aimed at the final years of Middle School. The educational product was developed from the participant observation of the researchers in the internship field on the spatial experiences lived by groups subjected to oppression regimes in the school space. For the elaboration of this guidebook, we based ourselves on the normative documents of the Brazilian Basic Education, as well as on existing bibliography on this theme. In our analyses, we used the intersecting social markers: gender and sexuality. The main objective of the didactic resource, with the potential to be developed in the ​​knowledge area called Population Geography, was to present a differentiated teaching practice proposal in this area, in order to problematize attitudes considered oppressive in the school space and outside of it. The production of the guidebook represents a pedagogical practice and a reflection instrument for teaching and also social relevance.

En esta materia elaboramos una cartilla con información geográfica dirigida a los últimos años de la Educación Básica II. El producto educativo fue pensado a partir de la observación activa de los investigadores en campo durante la práctica sobre las experiencias vividas por grupos sometidos a un régimen de opresión en el espacio escolar. Para la elaboración de la cartilla nos basamos en los documentos normativos de la Educación Básica y también en la bibliografía existente sobre el tema. En nuestros análisis utilizamos marcadores sociales interseccionales: género y sexualidad. El objetivo principal del recurso didáctico, con potencial para ser desarrollado en el área del Geografia de las Poblaciones, constituyó en presentar una propuesta de práctica de educación diferenciada en esta área, que permita problematizar actitudes consideradas como opresoras en el ámbito estudiantil y, consecuentemente fuera de él. La elaboración de la cartilla representa un método pedagógico y un instrumento de reflexión para la práctica docente y posee relevancia no solo pedagógica y académica, sino también social.Esta pesquisa resulta das reflexões operadas na disciplina Prática de Ensino, do curso de Licenciatura em Geografia da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, na qual elaboramos uma cartilha portadora de conteúdo geográfico direcionada para o Ensino Fundamental II. O produto educacional foi pensado a partir da observação das pesquisadoras no campo de estágio sobre as experiências espaciais vivenciadas por grupos submetidos a regimes de opressão no espaço escolar. Para sua confecção, nos baseamos nos documentos normativos da Educação Básica e na bibliografia existente sobre essa temática. Em nossas análises utilizamos os interseccionados marcadores sociais: gênero e sexualidade. O objetivo do recurso didático, com potencial para ser desenvolvido na área de Geografia da População, foi apresentar uma proposta de prática de ensino diferenciada nesta área, de modo a problematizar atitudes consideradas opressoras no espaço escolar e fora dele.
